Pennyroyal Garland Dancers rely on our band to supply the tunes, rhythms and beats that enable us to create our traditional shapes and steps, both in Garland and Clog dancing.

We are accompanied by a variety of talented and dedicated musicians, including guitar, piano accordion, fiddle, wind instruments, percussion, triangle and shouts of encouragement!

Our music is based on traditional Folk Music forms, the tunes being adapted to suit the rhythms and tempo of the dances. The tunes come from all corners of England, Scotland and Ireland, with the odd Breton tune featuring now and again.

The band turns out in all weathers (sometimes under umbrellas) to support the dancing, often risking their beer being contaminated by rain, and always put in a cracking performance. They have also been known to entertain at various venues whilst the Garland Dancers enjoy a well-earned rest from their labours.
